Short History

The band was formed somewhere in the 90s. Started up with a 3 member Punk band formally known as "The Skam", the band gets more and more members from the end of 1998 to the mid of 1999. Some changing in the lineup ... And here we are - Maskapone a Crazy 7 member Ska Band from Hannover (Germany), always looking for the next adventure. In the past exciting years we played more than 100 concerts in Germany, Austria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary and Slovenia - always looking forward to meet friends all over the world. We played with bands like: Eastern Standard Time, Hotknives, Mark Foggo, Shemale Trouble, No Respect, Los Fastidios, Ska Trek, Dr Woogle and the radio, Ngobo Ngobo, Wisecräcker and many other fantastic bands ...

What is Maskapone: Modern Ska, from roots to “rudes”, from soft to hard, from sociocritical to weird, from heartsickness to a hot night... The local press once called it: "... It sounds like James last and Bob Marley climbing the stage of a pub in Birmingham..." We call it Offbeat Rock'n'Roll!
